All Medicare-eligible consultations are bulk billed for patients with a valid Medicare card. Some items, including privately purchased vaccines and consumables, attract a fee.
Our medical centre in Salamander Bay Shopping Centre sees patients from Nelson Bay, Corlette, Soldiers Point, Anna Bay, Medowie and right across Port Stephens, as well as visitors holidaying on the bay. New patients are welcome, and walk-ins are seen subject to availability — you don't need to live around the corner.
You don't need to be local to be looked after. If you're visiting Port Stephens, working here for the season, or just passing through, book in the same way anyone else would.
GP consultations are bulk billed on weekdays for all patients with a valid Medicare card. Weekend arrangements differ, so please check with reception. Some procedures, dressings, privately purchased vaccines, travel medicine and medical reports may attract a small private fee — reception will quote you at the time of booking.

Bulk billing
We bulk bill eligible patients with a valid Medicare card. Cost shouldn't be the reason a check-up gets put off — some procedures and allied health services carry a fee, and reception will tell you before you book.

Continuity
Twelve doctors, male and female, with interests spanning women's health, paediatrics, skin cancer surgery, mental health and chronic disease — so you can find the right fit and stay with them.

One roof
On-site pathology, nursing, and visiting psychology, physiotherapy, podiatry, diabetes education and acupuncture — fewer trips, and your team already has your history.

Seven days
Weekdays 8:00am to 5:30pm and both weekend days 8:30am to 2:30pm, with walk-ins seen subject to availability and a recall system so screening and care plans don't slip.

You don't need a referral and you don't need to have been here before. Book with any of our twelve GPs online, or call the clinic and our reception team will match you to a doctor who's right for you.
Book any of our GPs through HotDoc, any hour of the day. If you're not sure who to see, call reception on (02) 4008 4400 and they'll match you to a doctor whose interests suit what you need.
Plus any concession, pensioner or DVA card. We bulk bill eligible Medicare patients — without a valid card a consultation fee applies, and reception will tell you the amount before you book.
There's a short new patient form to complete. Bring a list of your current medications and any recent results or specialist referrals. Interpreters and Auslan can be arranged — just tell reception when you book.
Seeing the same GP each visit is worth a lot — they know your history and you don't start from scratch. Ask reception to book you back with them, or register us as your preferred practice through MyMedicare.
